We choose the person, the restaurant and the evening. Beforehand you learn their first name, age and three sentences. There is no photo.
Group dinner for six
Three women and three men at one table, on a set evening at a partner restaurant. Afterwards you tell us who you'd like to see again.
How it works
The first suggestion can take a few weeks, depending on who from your area and your age group has signed up.
Apply
A questionnaire, a selfie and a photo of your ID. That's all we need.
Get verified
A person checks it, not AI. The ID photo is deleted afterwards. You'll usually hear back within a few hours.
Get a proposal
We suggest a person, a restaurant and an evening. You see their first name, age and three sentences. If it suits you, you accept and pay €15.00. So does your date.
Go and rate
The table is booked for you. After the date you give a few hearts in your account and say whether you'd like to see your date again.

Why it's different here
Nobody sees your photo
Beforehand your date only knows your first name, age and your three sentences. No other user sees your selfie, so nobody sorts you out by looks.
Everyone is checked
We compare ID and selfie ourselves. So nobody sits across from you with a false name or a false age.
Safe, because it's public
You only meet in restaurants where we've reserved for you. Nobody swaps numbers beforehand. If something wasn't right, you report it to us with one click.
No “no” at the table
After the date, each of you tells only us whether you'd like to meet again. Numbers are only exchanged if both say yes. Otherwise you both get the same friendly message, and nobody has to say it to the other person's face. At the group dinner, nobody finds out who chose whom.

Applying and verification are free. You only pay when you accept a suggestion, for example by PayPal or card. Everyone pays for their own food and drinks at the restaurant.

Application
Am I too old for this?
No. Weserfunke is for singles aged 18 and up, with no upper limit. You tell us how old your date should be, and we stick to it. At a group dinner, only people of a similar age share the table. If you don't like dating apps, you're in the right place. More for singles over 50
How quickly will I hear back?
We usually reply to your application by email within a few hours. The first blind date suggestion can then take a few weeks, depending on who from your area and your age group has signed up.
What does my date see about me?
Your first name, age and your three sentences. No surname, no town, no photo and no contact details. Your date only gets your mobile number if you both say yes after meeting.
What happens to my ID and selfie?
We delete the ID photo right after verification. The selfie stays with us only, so we know who we're seating at a table. No other user sees it. Delete your account and it's gone.
The meeting
Is it like speed dating or a dating site?
No. At speed dating you talk to lots of people for a few minutes each, on a dating site you message profiles. At Weserfunke you meet one person we've chosen for you, for a whole evening at a restaurant. Or you sit at a table with five other singles at a group dinner.
Where do the dates take place?
Weserfunke is for singles from the Weserbergland, for example from Hameln, Bad Pyrmont, Bad Münder, Hessisch Oldendorf, Aerzen, Emmerthal, Coppenbrügge, Salzhemmendorf, Springe, Bodenwerder and Holzminden. You meet at our partner restaurants in Hameln and the Weserbergland. When you apply, you tell us how you get around and how far you're happy to travel, and we pick the restaurant based on that. We'll remind you again on the day.
How will we recognise each other?
The table is booked for you. The name it's under is in your email. Just ask at the restaurant and they'll take you to it.
Do I have to stay the whole evening?
No. The table is firmly booked for you, but nobody is forced into anything. If you don't feel comfortable, you can leave at any time or talk to the staff. Tips for the evening and ideas for conversation topics are in the tips for your date.
What happens after the date?
Shortly afterwards we'll ask you by email how it went. In your area you hand out a few hearts and say whether you'd like to see your date again. If both say yes, we exchange your numbers. Otherwise you both get the same friendly message, nobody has to say it to the other person's face, and we keep looking.
Costs and cancelling
How much does it cost?
Applying and verification are free. You only pay when you accept a suggestion: €15.00 for the blind date, €12.00 for the group dinner. That covers selection, booking and organisation. Everyone orders and pays for their own food and drinks at the restaurant. There is no subscription.
Can I cancel?
Yes. As long as the date isn't fixed yet, cancelling costs nothing. If it's already fixed and you cancel up to 48 hours beforehand, you get the amount as credit for next time. We'll pay it out on request. If you cancel later or simply don't show up, the amount is forfeited. If the other person cancels or we move the date, you get everything back.
Can I give Weserfunke as a gift?
Yes, with a voucher for a blind date, a group dinner or an amount. You buy it here online, without an account, and receive it by email as a lovely card to print.
