Nein. Für das Selfie und das Foto deines Ausweises ist ein Handy am einfachsten, eine Webcam oder Digitalkamera geht aber auch. Danach läuft alles über E-Mail und deinen Bereich auf der Website. Eine App gibt es nicht.

Sind da überhaupt Leute in meinem Alter?

Weserfunke ist neu und wächst gerade. Wir schlagen dir nur jemanden vor, der in dem Alter ist, das du dir wünschst, und der sich umgekehrt auch jemanden in deinem Alter wünscht. Bis es so weit ist, wartest du, und es kostet nichts. Je mehr Menschen über 50 sich bewerben, desto schneller geht es.

Per PayPal, Kreditkarte, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Lastschrift oder Überweisung. Das Blind Date kostet €15.00, das Gruppen-Dinner €12.00 pro Person, jeweils inklusive Umsatzsteuer. Essen und Getränke zahlt jeder selbst im Lokal. Es gibt kein Abo.

Bei der Bewerbung sagst du uns, ob du mit dem Auto, dem Bus oder dem Rad kommst und wie lange die Fahrt höchstens dauern darf. Danach wählen wir das Lokal. Wer mit dem Bus kommt, bekommt die Verbindung und einen Taxi-Hinweis für den Rückweg.

Jede Bewerbung sehen wir uns selbst an, mit Ausweis und Selfie. So sitzt dir niemand mit falschem Namen oder falschem Alter gegenüber. Ihr trefft euch in einem Lokal, nicht privat. Deine Nummer geben wir nur weiter, wenn ihr beide nach dem Treffen Ja sagt.

Many people over 50 don't want to swipe through profiles in an app, message strangers or rate photos. At Weserfunke you don't have to. You apply once, we choose for you, and you meet at a reserved table in a restaurant in the region.

How it works for you

You decide the age. You tell us how old your date should be. We only propose someone where it fits both ways.
No photo, no chat. Beforehand you learn the first name, age and three sentences the other person wrote about themselves. Everything else you tell each other at the table.
We organise the evening. We choose the restaurant, day and time so you can both get there easily. The name the table is booked under is in your email.
Prefer a group? At a group dinner you sit at a table with five other singles of a similar age, three women and three men. For many, that's the more relaxed start.
Afterwards you decide. After the meeting you tell us whether you'd like to see the person again. We only exchange numbers if both say yes. The other person never hears about a no.

FAQ

Do I need a smartphone?

No. For the selfie and the photo of your ID a phone is easiest, but a webcam or digital camera works too. After that everything runs via email and your account on the website. There is no app.

Are there even people my age?

Weserfunke is new and growing. We only suggest someone who is the age you'd like and who in turn would like someone your age. Until then you wait, and it costs nothing. The more people over 50 apply, the faster it goes.

How do I pay?

By PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, direct debit or bank transfer. The blind date costs €15.00, the group dinner €12.00 per person, VAT included. Everyone pays for their own food and drinks at the restaurant. There is no subscription.

How do I get there?

When you apply, you tell us whether you'll come by car, bus or bike and the longest the journey should take. We choose the restaurant based on that. If you come by bus, you get the connection and a taxi tip for the way home.

Is it safe?

We look at every application ourselves, with ID and selfie. So nobody sits across from you with a false name or a false age. You meet in a restaurant, not in private. We only pass on your number if you both say yes after meeting.
